 | IBM Software Value Plus -IBM's new software Business Partner strategy
IBM has taken into use a new software distribution model: Software Value Plus. According to the model IBM requires certain expertise and knowledge from its partners. IBM partners need to demonstrate their skills through required certifications as without them it is no longer possible to resell IBM software licenses. The purpose of the new model is to upgrade the value of partners' skills and solutions as well as ensure that customers will get first-class service and return for their investment.
The new software delivery model will be taken into use gradually during 2010. The advanced collaboration products; Lotus Quickr, Lotus Connections and Lotus Sametime will be included in the model in July. Later this year also Lotus Notes/ Domino will require authorisation from its resellers.
